Unprofessional

I called the number and instead of hearing a professional greeting, I heard "This is (insert name)", I had to verify that I had dialed the correct number, and I got a very sarcastic "yes, it is". After explaining my inquiry about air fare, the answer that was given to me was "it's the same price you see on the Internet, but I'm gonna charge you $25 more". Unbelievable? Well, I swear it happened. Needless to say, I won't be doing business with them ever again. What travel agent does not even bother to answer the phone correctly? More over, what travel agent is so quick to discourage a guest from actually booking a vacation? My suggestion is - take better care of your potential clients and at least try to sound like you're excited about their travels. Clearly, they do not want anybody's business!

I sincerely apologize for your experience. It was not our intention to appear sarcastic or unwilling to help. We value your business and will make changes. The phone will be answered with a professional greeting. And we will explain in more detail to our clients how air fare is booked. Yes, we can research all flights and book it for you. And, Yes, in most cases it IS the same price as a client will find on the internet. Yes, we do have to charge a ticketing fee in order to pay for the agents and the administrative costs. Airlines DO NOT pay us any commissions, therfore we do not get paid for any bookings. We are a business and do have to make a few dollars in order to keep the lights on. We are always happy and willing to assist in any way possible.
